NYSC to Spend N50M in Building Radio Station


The Plan for the establishment of a Radio Station for the NYSC Body is really in Good Track as the Director General of Nigeria Youth service Corps Made a new Statement concerning having a Radio station.

Previously, we reported that the NYSC officials are planning to Build a Radio station in One of the States in Nigeria and the Project is said to Cost Over N50 Million.

The National Youth Service Corps is a scheme set up by the Nigerian government to involve Nigerian graduates in nation building and the development of the country.

On Wednesday, Director-General, Brig Gen Shuaibu Ibrahim Reveals the steps in Making it a Reality, he said that the NYSC Leaders is Only Having issues on the operational license to Start up the Radio station.


The DG said, “While I urge you to deepen and sustain the scheme’s presence in the social media, you must be vigilant by continuously sensitising corps members to the need to avoid inappropriate use of the new media. “You must be proactive through constant engagements and timely disclosure of necessary information on the activities of the scheme as they unfold.


Radio are in top gear as approval of the operational licence is being awaited. We expect a boost in the scheme’s publicity drive when the station eventually comes on stream.”


Recall that only recently, the NYSC increased salaries for corpers to N33,000. The radio station will be sited in Abuja and would be used to sensitize the public on the workings of the NYSC.
