PDP Reveals the Reason Why President Buhari Released Sambo Dasuki

The Nigerian opposition party, The peoples Democratic Party, PDP, released a statement saying that the President of Federal Republic of Nigeria, President Muhammad Buhari released the former National Security adviser, Col. Sambo Dasuki (rtd) not because he obeys the rule of law.

Torixus recalled that the previous national adviser on security matters was apprehended  in 2015 and was released together with a well-known activist named Omoyele Sowore, were released on 24 December, 2019. They were released after the Attorney General ordered their release on bail.

Responding to a question, Chairman of the Jigawa State PDP Congress, Dr. Umar Ardo, said that the President doesn't believe in the law of the land.  He made the statement while speaking to newsmen in Dutse. Torixus reports.

He further detailed that 3 Nigerian courts, including the West African Parliament court ordered the release of Sambo Dasuki but the President didn't listen to the judgments.

Torixus reported that Ardo said that Dasuki was granted freedom due to foreign pressures over the detention of Sowore.

“But because of the pressure from two senators from the United States of America who questioned him over the detention of Sowore.

“So for two senators to speak, he quickly released them because he couldn’t release him and allow Dasuki, so Sambo Dasuki benefited from it,” he said.

“Secondly, the rule of law says the Senate must confirm a candidate before he is appointed. Was Ibrahim Magu confirmed by senators before he was appointed as acting chairman of the EFCC? So which rule of law does Buhari believe in,” Ardo questioned
