Sunday Covid-19 Report: NCDC Released Data showing numbers of Reported New Cases

The second wave of Covid-19 pandemic has caused an uprise in the number of daily report of new cases. Initially, the country normally have daily reports that were less than 500 new cases, but since the second wave started, Nigeria has been recorded thousands of new cases on daily basis.

On Sunday, less than a thousand cases were recorded. Torixus learnt that 19 out of 36 States reported new cases. Lagos state which is the current epicenter of the pandemic recorded a total number of 360 new cases.

Nigeria centre for Disease control, NCDC went to their official twitter handle to disclose the new data showing the number of new cases. It said that 964 people residing in Nigeria tested positive to Covid-19 test and they emerged from 19 different states in the country.

The country's capital city, Federal capital territory (FCT) had 88 new cases. A state sharing border with Lagos, Ogun isolated 73 people who tested positive on Sunday. Imo-72, Kaduna-67, Plateau-57, Abia-41, Osun-41, Rivers-32, Kano-26, Niger-24, Benue-23, Edo-20, Cross River-20, Akwa Ibom-8, Nasarawa-6, Zamfara-6, Ekiti-6 and Jigawa-4

The new cases that were reported have summed the total confirmed cases in the country to 121,566. 97,228 persons have been discharged so far. And 1,504 people have denatured after losing battle with the pandemic.
