Who Are The "Unknown Gunmen" Killing Security Operatives In Southeast Nigeria? (Opinion)

A lot of things have been happening in the southeast region of the country. Since last week, we receive reports of the civil unrest as caused by unknown gunmen in root and clan of some States in the southern part of Nigeria, killing security operatives.

It is now a crime to wear police uniform or army uniform in some southeast States, especially in Anambra and IMO state.

Within 3 week, Torixus reported about 5 different attacks launched on security agents and police stations in the region.

On 6th day of February, 2021 we reported that two Nigerian police officers were killed and many injured after unknown gunmen invaded Umulowo police division in Obowo local government area of Imo state.

Abia state also witnessed similar case after two officers were killed by same unknown gunmen in the early hours of Tuesday, 23rd March, 2021. Following the incident, the state Government banned the use of motorcycle from 7pm to 7am in all the major towns in the state.  

On 24th February, We also published a report showcasing that unknown gunmen gunned down an officer and burnt down the police patrol vehicle in the second largest city in Anambra, Ekwulobia. A Similar attack also repeated itself four days ago as same Unknown gunmen killed unspecified number of policemen and soldiers in different locations in Anambra State.

Two days ago, the news was all over the place that Isiala Mbano police Division in IMO was attacked by yet unknown gunmen.  

And Just yesterday, we also saw photos showing the attack launched on officers working under the command of Abiriba police division In Abia. The unknown gunmen invaded the police officers at around 8.30am, killed three of them and made away with two of their riffles.

The circumstances surrounding the attacks from unknown gunmen remain hazy, for now. 

Just within two weeks, six policemen, four naval officers, two prison warders have been killed in Anambra. 

Many security operatives have been killed in similar attacks in different States in the south-east and it gives the impression that the attacks may have been coordinated.

The question that no one could Answer is; Who are the unknown gunmen perpetuating attacks on law enforcement agents?
